While shiny odds in games are around 1/4096, you certainly don't have odds that bad when it comes to Pokemon cards!
While the news we have is scarce, it's all we need to point us towards the right direction in knowing what's to come. During January 16th of this winter, we will be receiving our second Pokemon Scarlet and Violet era special set! Within this new set, we will be receiving a new form of product called the "sticker collection blister". This item will come with a black-star promo card, three packs, and (surprise) a sticker. We're also aware this set will receive an elite trainer box as well. While no other products have been explicitly stated, we can more than assume this set will receive the works, as most special sets do. Certain products we can specifically think may be included are premium collection boxes and booster bundles.
While nothing specifically about the cards of the set has been mentioned so far, we can take some educated guesses as to what is in the works. We are aware that Japan is receiving a set titled "shiny treasure" sometime around the end of this year through the copywriting of the name. Whenever this set releases, it may show us some cards that we may be receiving for our Western market as well.
We can also assume, partially based off of the Japanese set name, that this upcoming set will feature an array of shiny Pokemon from generation nine, joined by fan favorites from over the years as well. Special sets have a trend of featuring shiny Pokemon, and the naming convention seems to follow suit. The past few sets, we've seen "Shining Fates", "Hidden Fates", and "Shining Legends" within the past few years. It would be really cool to see a set follow this same naming pattern and perhaps do something new with it.
We can always expect to see Pokemon like regional starters and fan favorites make into these sets, but often the other Pokemon which end up being included are a little more bizarre. We'll have to wait to see whatever Pokemon will be featured, and what our upcoming sets theme will be, but for the time being we can just sit and enjoy the fresh Scarlet and Violet 151!
