The Pokémon TCG: Destined Rivals set is officially revealed and launches on May 30, 2025! As the latest addition to the Scarlet & Violet series, Destined Rivals promises a high-stakes showdown featuring famous Trainers and their partner Pokémon. What’s got everyone talking? The return of Team Rocket in a big way.
Team Rocket Blasts Back Into the Spotlight
For the first time in years, Team Rocket is taking over the Pokémon TCG. Destined Rivals reintroduces Rocket’s Pokémon, with cards like Rocket’s Mewtwo ex, Rocket’s Arbok, and Rocket’s Koffing making a villainous comeback. Classic characters Giovanni, Ariana, and Petrel lead the charge, appearing on booster pack artwork and cards.
This expansion pays tribute to the legendary battles between heroes and villains. Expect epic rivalries such as Giovanni vs. Ethan, Cynthia vs. Team Rocket, and more across the set.
Booster Box and Pack Artwork Revealed
The Destined Rivals booster box and packs feature iconic Trainer duos:
- Giovanni with Mewtwo
- Cynthia with Garchomp
- Ethan with Ho-Oh
- Marnie with Grimmsnarl
Each booster box will contain 36 booster packs, and collectors are already eager to get their hands on them. This set includes over 180 cards, including Pokémon ex, Illustration Rares, and potential Secret Rares.

Im super excited for destined rivals, Journey together and Destined Rivals are the first Pokemon Center Exclusive ETB’s I wasn’t able to get since they began making them with Chilling reign Set. It Breaks my heart but hopefully Ill get one from each when hype goes down, I’m more of a sealed Collector like to get one to open and I never open the Pokemon center Exclusive ETBs til they started releasing the stamped cards so id buy one to open and 2 to keep sealed. hopefully i’ll be able to get least 2 when prices calm down cause I have one of every one of the Scarlet Violet Promos and the Promos from the Sword & shield premium box all graded thru PSA as 10s. I really hope to not have to buy one already graded plus the shelfs will look empty since i’ve made room for a copy of each etb and each booster Box sealed. I was hoping to pass it down to my son one day but we will see what the future brings. Tcg Stadium has been good to me and I found some items like the Pikachu celebrations collection box tho it wasn’t the one with the playmat theres always another day. I love how you have alot of the random items from other eras if you know how to navigate the site and you have alot of the the older items i missed I can add to my seaed collection shelf. These last 2 sets have really made us collectors look like fools I hope pokemon can fix that for those of us who have worked hard to build up a following and to make it so we can make a little side money and still be able to afford to keep up collecting itself. People dont understand not all sellers are scalpers specially when people like me sell items well below market since i got most my cases I’ve kept sealed at distro prices so i can change alot less than Market and still be making a good chunk of change but we aren’t talked about its always the idiots charging 10x over msrp or 2x market. When if you didn’t like the prices and did some homework you’d find one of the good sellers like myself. Just sad that the few have made us all look bad . If you keep paying these foolish prices the scalpers are charging on ebay then they arent gonna lower the price cause there greedy. Don’t get the fomo and you’ll be ok just stay patient and remember why you started collecting and stop watching this big time tiktokkers and youtubers filling your heads with foolish thoughts cause there paid by pokemon to do so at least the majority of them are stick to DeepPocketMonster and companies like TCG-Stadium and you’ll be ok
