With Obsidian Flames far in the rearview mirror, Pokemon 151 just now becoming international, and Raging Surf arriving today, Pokemon TCG fans have had no shortage of card content. Certainly, if our bank accounts weren't looking depleted enough, The Pokemon Company certainly has a solution
Recently, The Pokemon Company filed for three new trademarked names, those being: "Crimson Haze", "Night Wanderer", and "Mask of Change". These are seemingly the next set names for three different upcoming Japanese sets. We don't know anything about these sets, and it will more than likely be another few months before we see these names reappear.
Some have taken to guessing online, trying to decipher what these names could mean for the upcoming sets, yet hardly any solid ground has been broken. As of writing this, there haven't been any solid guesses on what either Crimson Haze or Night Wanderer could be, although there is a solid leading idea to report on. Many have pointed out that the set name Mask of Change could very well be referring to Ogerpon, one of the new Pokemon introduced in the Scarlet and Violet DLC. Another Pokemon that we're anticipating something for is Terapagos, who is also a part of the DLC.
I did spend a little while earlier today, before sitting down to write this, attempting to think of anything that either of the other set names could be pointing to, yet unfortunately I came up with nothing. That being said however, if I had to guess, it would not be out of question that at least one of these sets features the new Heroes of Kitakami. Additionally, it would make sense that one of these sets is a "main set" while two of the other ones are "sister sets", although this is purely guesswork on my end.
Ultimately it is important to remember everything online as of right now is nothing but guesswork, as all we have to go off of are the set names. Even with this being the case though, that certainly doesn't mean we can't anticipate and hype up what's to come, and get ourselves riled up for whatever is in the future.
