Hey all, Ash here. Have you been suffering from having too much spending money available recently? Do you want to have another outlet to essentially burn your paychecks? Good news to all of my fellow collectors out there, because these problems will certainly cease to exist soon! Dark Phantasma has been officially announced as the next set to hit Japanese shelves, with a May 13th release date. Of the cards officially shown to us, we can already tell that this set is going to be one of the best in the whole Sword and Shield era. This set primarily seems to focus on Hisuian Zoroark, as well as ghost type Pokemon in general. Of the cards we have seen so far, we already know we have VStar cards continuing to appear, yet we also have another neat surprise. Shining Pokemon seem to make another appearance! So far we have only seen Shining Gardevoir from the set, but we can probably expect at least two more Pokemon to be featured. Below are the most prominent cards revealed so far.
With all of the information out of the way, I have a theory to present to you, reader. The past few sets have been heavily focused on the region of Hisui, and this set is no different. We have already seen the past several sets look at different star Pokemon, specifically legendaries. We have already seen Arceus, Shaymin, Dialga, Palkia, and even Heatran. It has already been speculated, but now it seems apparent; Dark Phantasma is certainly going to have Giratina as its star legendary. Darkrai may certainly play a role in this set as well, but Giratina is all but confirmed to be in this next one. It simply makes complete sense. It is not only a ghost type Pokemon, fitting into the overall theme of this set, but more importantly it is the final Pokemon to complete the Sinnoh set of four (that being Arceus, Dialga, Palkia, and then Giratina). Darkrai is also very likely to poke it's head out here as well, because it too fits seamlessly into this set.
